Basketball Game Preview: Douglas Patriots vs. Pierre T.F. Riggs Governors

Douglas is 0-7 against Pierre T.F. Riggs since March of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Douglas Patriots are taking a road trip to square off against the Pierre T.F. Riggs Governors at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Douglas is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 17th straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They were outmatched by Brandon Valley and fell 70-21. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-12.

Meanwhile, Pierre T.F. Riggs lost 74-53 to Washington last Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Governors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Warriors are ranked 15th).

Pierre T.F. Riggs now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Douglas, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Douglas might still be hurting after the 65-44 loss they got from Pierre T.F. Riggs in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Douglas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
