Football Game Preview: Spruce Creek Hawks vs. Timber Creek Wolves

The Spruce Creek Hawks will face off against the Timber Creek Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Spruce Creek comes in on 17 and Timber Creek on nine.

Spruce Creek is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Tocoi Creek a 6-0 shutout. The final result isn't all the surprising considering the Hawks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Toros are ranked 115th).

Meanwhile, Timber Creek won against Colonial last Thursday with 13 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. The Wolves beat Forest by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-6.

Spruce Creek's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 1.0 point on average over those games. As for Timber Creek, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.

Spruce Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Timber Creek in their previous matchup back in April of 2021, but they still walked away with a 6-2 victory.
