Baseball Recap: Deltona Wolves vs. Seabreeze Sandcrabs
Deltona lost a heartbreaker to Seabreeze when they met back in May of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The Deltona Wolves took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Seabreeze Sandcrabs. Deltona has not had much luck with Seabreeze recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
William Martinez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Thompson, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI.
On Seabreeze's side, Rustin Hurley was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Zane Barron was another key contributor, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
Deltona's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Seabreeze, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deltona will take on Lyman at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Seabreeze, they will head out on the road to face off against Flagler Palm Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Flagler Palm Coast is coming into the matchup with three straight wins at home, so Seabreeze will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
