Wiggins and Haxtun are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. After both having extra time off, the two teams will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wiggins' defense has only allowed 26.3 points per game this season, so Haxtun's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Last Saturday, Wiggins was able to grind out a solid victory over Prairie, taking the game 38-29.

Kennedy Kerr continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 5 of 12 on her way to 17 points. Kerr is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Tenleigh Lorenzini was another key player, putting up six points.
Meanwhile, Haxtun came up short against Akron two weeks ago and fell 51-40. The loss continues a trend for the Fightin' Bulldogs in their matchups with the Rams: they've now lost four in a row.
Wiggins will have to contain Bobbi Starkebaum as she made an impact in Haxtun's last game. She dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, Starkebaum is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Anderson, who posted three points and seven assists.
Even though they lost, Haxtun smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 26 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Wiggins' win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Haxtun, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Wiggins has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 23.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Haxtun struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Wiggins strolled past Haxtun when the teams last played two weeks ago by a score of 43-29. Will Wiggins repeat their success, or does Haxtun have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
