Football Recap: Elmwood-Murdock Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Elmwood-Murdock extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 4-1. They came out on top against the Johnson-Brock Eagles by a score of 24-12. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 56-20 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

It was another big night for Dashiell Coleman, who threw for 114 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 66 yards. Clayton Wagner got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Elmwood-Murdock didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Wagner led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for Johnson-Brock, they moved to 3-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. Having soared to a lofty 54 points in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

Despite the loss, Johnson-Brock still got an impressive performance from Hayden Gravatt, who rushed for 128 yards and one TD, and also picked up 44 receiving yards. Gravatt's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards.

Coming up, Elmwood-Murdock will venture away from home to square off against Sacred Heart at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Johnson-Brock, they will host Freeman at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Eagles will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
