Soccer Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

If Washington was riding high fresh off their 4-1 takedown of Dunkerton on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors lost 6-1 to the Cedar Falls Tigers on Friday. While losing is never fun, Washington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while Cedar Falls are ranked 44th).

Washington's defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Cedar Falls, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-6-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will head out to square off against Hempstead at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cedar Falls, they will challenge Jefferson at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
