Alcoa had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it 16 on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the McMinn Central Chargers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Myles Cox made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Eli Graf was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Aden Orrick was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Alcoa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McMinn Central only posted a batting average of .125.

Alcoa's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 29-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for McMinn Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 23-14.

Alcoa will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
