Volleyball Recap: Waterford-Halfmoon Fordians vs. Hoosic Valley Indians
Waterford-Halfmoon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Hoosic Valley Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fordians of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-21, 25-13.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hoosic Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ella Waldron, who had 11 digs, six kills, and four aces. Waldron is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonj Chapko, who had six aces, four kills, and two blocks.
Waterford-Halfmoon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Hoosic Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Waterford-Halfmoon will stay at home for another game and welcome Berlin/New Lebanon at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hoosic Valley, they are on the road again on Saturday to play La Salle Institute.
