Trona took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Lucerne Valley Mustangs by a score of 3-1. For the Tornadoes, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

While Trona might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Lucerne Valley scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 25-21.

When it comes to explaining why Lucerne Valley lost, don't look at Genesis Ayala. Despite the final result, she had 21 digs.

Lucerne Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
