Soccer Game Preview: McNeil vs. Round Rock

The McNeil Mavericks will challenge the Round Rock Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

McNeil is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Round Rock Westwood just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 5-2 to the Warriors. The match was a 2-2 toss-up at halftime, but the Mavericks couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Round Rock entered their game against Vista Ridge on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Round Rock fell just short of Vista Ridge by a score of 1-0. The loss put an end to the Dragons' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, McNeil fell to 5-1. As for Round Rock, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1-1.

McNeil came up short against Round Rock in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 3-1. Can McNeil avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
