Recap: Pinconning Spartans vs. Roscommon Bucks
The Pinconning Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by Roscommon at home and fell 62-26. Pinconning was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.
Roscommon found their leader in underclassman Zoey Kauffman, who scored 21 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kauffman has scored all season. Kylie Traver was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Pinconning dropped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.4 points per game. As for Roscommon, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Pinconning will head out on the road to challenge Alcona at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Roscommon, they will be playing at home against Manton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Roscommon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Manton is ranked 61st).
