Softball Recap: Grand Prairie Takes a Loss

Grand Prairie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 17-7 to the Sam Houston Texans. That's two games in a row now that the Gophers have lost by exactly ten runs.

Stella Benitez-Mendez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Lylly Sanchez was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI.

Grand Prairie's loss dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Sam Houston, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grand Prairie will square off against Arlington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gophers will need to watch out since the Colts have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Sam Houston, they will take on Haltom at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
