The Bridgehampton Killer Bees will head out on the road to take on the Southold Settlers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bridgehampton's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Bridgehampton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Shelter Island, posting a 73-36 victory on the road. Given Bridgehampton's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while Shelter Island is ranked 843rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Southold had to endure a ten-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past Shelter Island 71-32 at home. With Southold ahead 41-17 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Bridgehampton's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Southold, their win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2.
Bridgehampton strolled past Southold when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 71-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bridgehampton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
