Basketball Recap: Jeff Davis Comes Up Short

Jeff Davis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 70-65 heartbreaker at the hands of the Thomasville Bulldogs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (62), the Yellowjackets still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Jeff Davis still got an impressive performance from Latrell Sellers, who posted 26 points. Those 26 points gave Sellers a new career-high. J'Varis Bryant was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Antoine Garland Jr. was the offensive standout of the game as he put up 16 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Jordan Mitchell, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points.

Jeff Davis' loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Thomasville, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.

Looking ahead, Jeff Davis will challenge Brantley County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jeff Davis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season. Thomasville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
