The Willow Glen Rams will take on the Salinas Cowboys at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Willow Glen sitting on 22 straight victories and Salinas on five.
Willow Glen is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Leland 17-2 on Thursday. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

Lea Crawford was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Elli Hornstein was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Willow Glen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Salinas won against Hollister on Wednesday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Cowboys came out on top against North Salinas by a score of 7-3.
Bella Machuca looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kelsie Domenighini, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gigi Rossi, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Willow Glen's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Salinas, their record now sits at 16-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Willow Glen has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Salinas struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Willow Glen came up short against Salinas in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, falling 6-1. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
