Volleyball Recap: Wonderful College Prep Academy's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to 14

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Wonderful College Prep Academy walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Torres Toros 3-2 on Thursday. The Wolves are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 14 straight.

Wonderful College Prep Academy was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (105-99), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-22, 15-9.

Daniela Macias produced another solid performance getting 20 kills, 13 digs, three blocks, and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 32 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Maldonado, who had 14 kills, 12 digs, and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Wonderful College Prep Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in 15 consecutive matches.

Wonderful College Prep Academy's record is now 28-8-2. As for Torres, with the defeat, they broke their six-match winning streak and moved their record to 18-12.

As of now, neither Wonderful College Prep Academy nor the Toros have any future games scheduled.
