Basketball Recap: Wooddale Skates Past Freedom Prep Academy with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wooddale). They claimed a resounding 53-18 win over the Freedom Prep Academy Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in February.

Wooddale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was London Carson out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. Carson continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alexia Smith, who posted ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

Wooddale was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Wooddale now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Freedom Prep Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Wooddale and Freedom Prep Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Cardinals see the court they'll take on Sheffield at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Freedom Prep Academy, their break will end when they face Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
