Baseball Game Preview: Fort Mill Yellow Jackets vs. Waccamaw Warriors

The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets will be taking part in a tournament against the Waccamaw Warriors at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fort Mill is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Thursday. They blew past Socastee 14-4.

Sullivan Townley looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Carter Blankinship was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Patterson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Waccamaw had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against Gray Collegiate Academy by a score of 6-2.

Waccamaw let Evan Barnett and Corrin Green run wild. Barnett scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Green scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most hits Barnett has posted since back in April of 2024. Ty Kerns was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
