Baseball Recap: Hidden Valley Titans vs. Blacksburg Bruins
After flying high against Patrick Henry on Friday, Hidden Valley came back down to earth. The Titans fell just short of the Blacksburg Bruins by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bruins earlier this season, when they won 6-4.
Wyatt Clarke was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Clarke wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Zachary Slough, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Hunter Mixon also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
