Basketball Recap: Franklin County Drops Highest Score of Season Against Ringgold

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Franklin County walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Ringgold Tigers on Wednesday as they made off with an 85-62 victory. The Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Loss or not, Ringgold got some senior leadership from Taylor Pierce and Bryce Harris. Pierce en route to 20 points and five rebounds, while Harris dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. That's the most boards Harris has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Trent Bender, who earned nine points.

Franklin County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.2 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Ringgold and nudges their season record down to 13-15.

Franklin County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-54 win against Salem on the 22nd. Ringgold does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
