Basketball Recap: Thatcher Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Thatcher had won two straight road games and Isaac Palmer did his part to make it three on Tuesday. The Thatcher Eagles walked away with an 84-74 win over the Empire Ravens thanks in part to Palmer, who dropped a double-double on 44 points and 20 boards. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Chad Johnson, who went 8 of 15 en route to 17 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Empire lost, don't look at Donovan Davidson. Despite the final result, he posted 27 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Khari Gurley, who put up eight points in addition to eight assists and eight boards.

Thatcher is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Empire, their loss dropped their record down to 12-15.

Thatcher has already played their next contest, a 72-54 victory against Morenci on the 5th. As for Empire, they will square off against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Empire surely won't give up without a fight.
