Softball Recap: Clayton Takes a Loss

If Clayton was feeling good fresh off their 24-4 takedown of Logan last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellowjackets came up short against the Pecos Panthers on Tuesday, falling 17-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 21-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Clayton now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Pecos, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Clayton beat the Panthers by a score of 23-14 later that day.
