Baseball Recap: Canterbury School Extends Home Winning Streak to 15

Canterbury School came tearing into Saturday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Berkshire School Bears by a score of 5-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-3 on Wednesday.

Jake Petrin tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyler Harmony, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Heagle, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Canterbury School's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average this season. As for Berkshire School, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canterbury School will take on Millbrook School at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. As for Berkshire School, they will face off against Hotchkiss School at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
