The Brighton Cardinals will head out to take on the Covington Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brighton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.8 goals per game this season.

Brighton came up short against University School of Jackson on Thursday, falling 5-1. Brighton were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Jayden Edwards, who's now up to 17 this season.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Covington made sure to put some goals up on the board against Millington Central on Friday. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 5-2 victory. Covington might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by three goals or more this season.

Covington's win bumped their record up to 6-2-1. As for Brighton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.

Everything went Brighton's way against Covington when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Brighton made off with a 7-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
