West Branch had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the South Range Raiders. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won eight in a row.

West Branch never let South Range on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-23.

Madilyn Hoopes paced West Branch's offense, picking up six kills. Hoopes got some help from Kendelle Hoopes and her ten assists. Chloey Sanor and Neely Gruver kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Coincidentally, West Branch and South Range will both be playing Smithville the next time they take the court. The Raiders will host the Smithies at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 11:15 a.m.
