The Newman International Academy Warriors lost against the ILTexas Arlington Eagles back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Newman International Academy opened the new year with a less-than-successful 59-47 loss to ILTexas Arlington. Newman International Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jeremiah Burress was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with nine rebounds and six assists for ILTexas Arlington. Burress continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Sean Tang was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five assists and three steals.

Newman International Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for ILTexas Arlington, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-14.

Newman International Academy will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Advantage Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th. Advantage Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for ILTexas Arlington, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Newman International Academy at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Newman International Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Tuesday.
