It was a good run, but Tolono Unity unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts by a score of 2-1. If the Rockets were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Grey Ghosts when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tolono Unity started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-21, 25-21.

Tolono Unity's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Illinois Valley Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Tolono Unity is set to challenge their familiar foe St. Thomas More at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Illinois Valley Central will square off against rival Monticello at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
