Cardinal Mooney entered their tilt with Southeast on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Seminoles get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Cougars have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Erin Sugg and Erin Griffith made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Sugg tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Griffith pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sugg has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Sugg scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Griffith scored two runs while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs Sugg has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Lockhart, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Victoria McMahon was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Cardinal Mooney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southeast only posted an OBP of .474.

Cardinal Mooney's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Southeast, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cardinal Mooney will square off against Riverview Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 4.1, the Rams 1.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Southeast, they will face off against Lakewood at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Seminoles are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
