Softball Recap: Kennedy Starts Season with Victory Against Richfield

Kennedy took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Richfield Spartans by a score of 8-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Emma Skibbie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Audrey Skibbie, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Jami Perlick was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Kennedy will welcome Roosevelt at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Richfield, they are taking a road trip to square off against Visitation at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
