Volleyball Recap: Birchwood Triumphs

Lac Courte Oreilles came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against Birchwood, but Alyssa Holt wouldn't allow it. The Bobcats narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 3-2 for which the team can thank Holt, who had 16 digs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Birchwood got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-21, 18-25, 25-22, 24-26, 15-10.

Birchwood's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-19. As for Lac Courte Oreilles, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Looking ahead, Birchwood will head out on the road to square off against Clayton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lac Courte Oreilles, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Washburn on the 16th.
