Softball Recap: Harris County Tigers vs. Midtown Knights        
        
		
             Harris County waltzed into their matchup  on Wednesday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Midtown Knights  a   15-0 shutout. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matches by six  runs or more this season.
  Riley Huckaby made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  struck out eight batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-1 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Ivy McCormick was a standout: she scored a  run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Caroline Gatewood, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-2.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Harris County was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .812. The last time their  batting average was this high was  back in September of 2023.
 Harris County pushed their record up to 27-2 with the  victory, which was their tenth straight  at home. As for Midtown, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 13-4.
 Harris County will have a chance to go back-to-back against Midtown: the pair will be back at it again later today.
