Basketball Recap: KIPP Esperanza Comes Up Short

KIPP Esperanza came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt a 54-24 loss at the hands of the KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack. The Eagles were down 45-23 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eddie Whiteside, who posted five points and seven rebounds.

KIPP Esperanza dropped their record down to 2-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for KIPP San Jose Collegiate, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

KIPP Esperanza has already played their next contest, a 59-44 loss against Mid-Peninsula on the 11th. As for KIPP San Jose Collegiate, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-23 victory against Luis Valdez Leadership Academy on the 11th.
