Volleyball Recap: Frederick Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Frederick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the North Hagerstown Hubs, falling 3-0. The Cadets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hubs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-20, 25-12.

When it comes to explaining why Frederick lost, don't look at Kendall Ortiz. Despite the final result, she had 14 assists and 11 digs. Ortiz is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season.

North Hagerstown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madison Shatzer led the charge by getting seven digs and three aces. Those seven digs gave Shatzer a new career-high. Aleah Merrbaugh was another key player, getting four aces and three digs.

Frederick's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for North Hagerstown, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Frederick wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against South Hagerstown on the 29th. North Hagerstown has also already played their next match (against Tuscarora), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
