Baseball Recap: Park City Triumphs

Park City's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Foothill Falcons by a score of 9-4. For the Miners, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 win the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Jakob DeVries was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Colton Schmidt, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Park City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foothill only posted a batting average of .185.

Park City now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Foothill, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Park City will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Cyprus at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Foothill, they will take on Green Canyon in a tournament on Saturday.
