Softball Preview: Rosemount Irish vs. Eastview Lightning
Rosemount and Eastview are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Rosemount Irish will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eastview Lightning at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Rosemount's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Shakopee by a score of 1-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).
Not much got past Jorey Fry, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Shakopee off the board.
At the plate, Rosemount saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ari Princl, who went 1-for-3 with a stolen base.
Meanwhile, Eastview scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Prior Lake 16-3. Considering Eastview has won three matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Hannah Soderbeck, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ava Ruyle, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.
