It's automatic every Monday during the high school football season. Football fans from all corners of the state login to their computers hoping the school they are loyal to moved up in the rankings, took over the top spot, or simply made the climb into the rankings.

But, what about the national rankings? Oh what a coupe that would be, to find your alma mater alongside traditional powers St. John Bosco, St. Frances Academy or Mater Dei. Heck, landing a Top 100 ranking would be pretty cool, too.

Well, this week we did the work for you. Scouring through the MaxPreps National Rankings, we unearthed the current MaxPreps ranking for each member of Nebraska's Top 10 11-Man and 8-Man/6-Man football teams.

Humphrey St. Francis, Creighton and Burwell, the top three 8-Man programs in Nebraska, all represent the Cornhusker State in our Top 25 nationally. Fourth-ranked Johnson-Brock comes in at No. 26 out of the 1,625 football programs included in our 9-Man/8-Man/6-Man database. Top-ranked and Class C1 power Aurora rose 70 spots to 440th nationally following a 47-22 win over Central City last weekend to lead the way for the big schools.

Second to the Huskies is Class C1 power Pierce, who is representing well after knocking off Boone Central/Newman Grove 49-7 to claim the 552nd spot out of the 14,416 schools listed in our 11-Man rankings database. Omaha Skutt Catholic, Nebraska's top-ranked Class B squad, rounds out the Cornhusker State Top 3 at No. 787th nationally following a 34-7 win over Norris last weekend.

Omaha Burke took advantage of its 42-13 defeat of Class A Papillion-LaVista to leap four spots to 897th, while Class B's Scottsbluff rose four spots to 970th following its 23-13 win over McCook.

Humphrey St. Francis, Nebraska's top dog in the 8-Man/6-Man ranks, climbed one spot to 21st this week following a 54-6 win over Plainview. Creighton blasted Boyd County 57-14 to climb two spots to 23rd, while Burwell rose three places to 24th nationally after blanking Ansley-Litchfield 48-0 last weekend.

Fourth-ranked Johnson-Brock dropped two spots to 26th despite edging Cornhusker State power Falls City Sacred Heart 52-46, while Kenesaw dropped 10 spots to 33rd nationally after blasting Giltner 82-22. Top-ranked 6-Man club Harvard, ranked 26th in Nebraska's Class 8-Man/6-Man poll, dropped 56 spots to 172nd nationally despite shutting out Hampton 54-0.

As you browse through this week's Top 10, listed on the top line is the school, its won-loss record in parenthesis, the school's point differential this fall and its MaxPreps power ranking.
