Basketball Game Preview: Fort Bend Dulles Vikings vs. Fort Bend Clements Rangers

Fort Bend Dulles is 10-0 against Fort Bend Clements since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Fort Bend Dulles Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Fort Bend Clements Rangers at 11:30 a.m. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Fort Bend Dulles and ten for Fort Bend Clements.

Fort Bend Dulles is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Fort Bend Austin on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Fort Bend Dulles was beaten by Fort Bend Austin 77-28. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 980th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 208th).

Despite the defeat, Fort Bend Dulles saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Laylah Thornton dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. That's the most points Thornton has posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Fort Bend Clements had to suffer through a 66-26 loss at the hands of Fort Bend Bush.

Fort Bend Clements' loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Fort Bend Dulles, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-22.

Fort Bend Dulles took their win against Fort Bend Clements when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 56-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fort Bend Dulles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
