Preview: Mart Panthers vs. Bremond Tigers
Mart is 1-9 against Bremond since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mart Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Bremond Tigers at 6:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Mart has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Bremond will arrive with 20 straight victories.
Mart suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Marlin at home and fell 55-14. While losing is never fun, Mart can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1063rd, while Marlin is ranked 255th).
Meanwhile, Bremond stacked a 16th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They blew past Dawson 54-19 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Bremond has posted since December 8, 2023.
Mart has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Bremond, their win was their 19th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-0.
Mart might still be hurting after the 41-17 loss they got from Bremond in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Mart avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
