The Northwest Indians will square off against the Lake Catholic Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Northwest lost 14-2 to Field two weeks ago. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Northwest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cam Palmer, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Catholic). They were the clear victors by a 28-0 margin over Warrensville Heights on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won three matches in a row.
Caden Boyes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Boyes was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.
In other pitching news, Patrick Radigan looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Brayden Mann was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Walsh, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Lake Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .766. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Lake Catholic pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Northwest, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15.
