Softball Game Preview: Grady Falcons vs. Lafayette Patriots

The Grady Falcons will head out to square off against the Lafayette Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Grady's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last six games.

On Tuesday, Grady made easy work of CSI International Studies and carried off an 18-2 victory. Considering the Falcons have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Lafayette lost 22-6 to Telecommunication Arts Tech on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost three in a row.

Grady has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Lafayette, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Grady took their victory against Lafayette in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 19-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
