After losing to Martin County the last time they met, Spanish River decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Sharks walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Tigers on Friday.

Eloise Baum paced Spanish River's offense, picking up six kills. Baum got some help from Ryland O'Neal and her ten assists. Finally, Amelie Fortinho and Maggie Wolf kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked three attacks.

Despite the loss, Martin County had strong showings from Kaylee Alvarez, who had nine digs, and Shelby Stone, who had nine digs. Skylar Watley also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Spanish River's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Martin County, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 11-7.

Spanish River didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against St. Johns Country Day on the 4th. As for Martin County, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Braden River on the 4th.
