Soccer Game Preview: Plainview vs. Lubbock

The Plainview Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Lubbock Westerners at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses for Plainview and six for Lubbock.

Plainview fell victim to Caprock and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Longhorns, falling 7-0.

Meanwhile, Lubbock also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 3-0 to Coronado on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Westerners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 573rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 179th).

Lubbock's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Plainview, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Plainview might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Lubbock in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Plainview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
