Basketball Recap: Houston Comes Up Short

Houston suffered their biggest loss since February 5th on Thursday. They were outmatched by the South Pontotoc Cougars and fell 71-40. The Hilltoppers have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Houston's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for South Pontotoc, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Houston will finish 2024 at home by hosting Dawson County at 10:30 a.m. on December 27th. South Pontotoc and Man will round out the year against one another at at 8:30 p.m. on December 26th. One thing working in South Pontotoc's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches.
