In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Beloit sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 15-25, 25-19.
Mckenna Channell put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had 14 digs and two aces.
Meanwhile, Ellsworth had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They came out on top against the Cowboys by a score of 2-0.
While Ellsworth won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-16.
Beloit better keep an eye on Kelli Rodriguez. She was instrumental in Ellsworth's win, getting 14 digs. That's the most digs Rodriguez has posted over her last eight matches.
Ellsworth's win bumped their record up to 30-8. As for Beloit, their loss dropped their record down to 29-9.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's matchup: Beloit has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Ellsworth struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
