Basketball Recap: Utopia Comes Up Short

On Tuesday, the Utopia Buffaloes were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to the Rocksprings Angoras. The Buffaloes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Utopia lost, don't look at Kinsley Cox. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. The match was Cox's third in a row with at least ten points. Emily Wiekamp was another key player, putting up four points and five boards.

Among those leading the charge was Alektra Hernandez, who posted 20 points. Another player making a difference was Katie Riojas, who earned 11 points.

Utopia's loss dropped their record down to 7-12-1. As for Rocksprings, their victory bumped their record up to 8-16-1.

Utopia will host Leakey at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rocksprings, they will head out to take on Comstock at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rocksprings is facing Comstock at the right time seeing as Comstock is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
