Basketball Game Preview: Spooner Rails vs. Barron Golden Bears

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Spooner turned things around against St. Croix Falls on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 72-57 victory over the Saints.

Meanwhile, Barron came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Chieftains by a score of 70-62. While the Golden Bears didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Barron pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Spooner, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.
