Recap: Mendez Jaguars vs. Belmont Sentinels
The Mendez Jaguars can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 57-37 margin over Belmont. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Mendez has posted yet this season.
Belmont lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Semaj Norwood, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ardee Parfan, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Mendez's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Belmont, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-15.
Mendez will head out on the road to challenge Bernstein at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Bernstein presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mendez in California (Bernstein is ranked 466th, while Mendez is ranked 1174th). As for Belmont, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Robert F. Kennedy Community at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
