Volleyball Recap: Springfield Longhorns vs. Holly Wildcats

After flying high against Walsh on Thursday, Springfield came back down to earth. The Springfield Longhorns fell just short of the Holly Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Longhorns were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September.

Springfield took Holly into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 11-25, 25-15, 25-11, 16-25, 15-12.

Holly can attribute much of their success to Ella Splitter, who had 15 digs.

Springfield has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Holly, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season.
