After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Plumas Charter, CORE Butte was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 victory over the Burney Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lynx have posted since January 4, 2024.

Burney's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Fields, who posted 18 points and eight boards. That was a full 40% of Burney's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Germaine Maldonado, who earned 11 points.

CORE Butte's victory bumped their record up to 2-18. As for Burney, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.
