Baseball Recap: Hamilton Beats Plumas Charter for Their Third Straight Win

Hamilton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Plumas Charter Warriors 8-2. With that win, the Braves brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Austin Studybaker made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Studybaker was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Dylan Joksch was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Patrick Matthews was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Hamilton's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Plumas Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Hamilton will head out on the road to square off against Corning at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Plumas Charter, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-1 defeat against Los Molinos on the 13th.
